Lab Director

Keyne C. Law, Ph.D. (she/her/)

Dr. Law is an Associate Professor of Clinical Psychology at Seattle Pacific University* (SPU). She is also an Affiliate Assistant Professor at the University of Washington's (UW) Center for Suicide Prevention and Recovery (CSPAR) and a Co-Investigator/Faculty Member for the Methodology Core of UW's Suicide Care Research Center, an NIMH-funded P50, both directed by Kate Comtois, PhD, MPH.

Dr. Law's research interests focus primarily on the transition from suicidal ideation to suicidal behavior. Specifically, she is in mechanisms, processes, and systems involved in developing motivation and capabiilty for suicidal behavior. Dr. Law is also enjoys evaluating research methods and instruments used in suicide research and is passionate towards innovation and interdisciplinary collaborations to improve the suicide research field. She is available for consultation on research design, experimental lab procedures, as well as suicide risk assessment and risk management strategies.  

 

Clinically, Dr. Law is a Licensed Psychologist in the state of Washington. She currently serves on the Board of Directors and supervises practicum students for The Affirmative Collective (TAC), a non-profit organization focused on providing underserved and marginalized communites with affordable evidence-based care.

 

Outside of her professional activities, Dr. Law enjoys paddle boarding, reading, playing with her two dogs, and trying new hobbies.

 

Dr. Law is planning to admit at least 1 graduate student during the 2024-2025 application cycle.
